Paris is always a good idea, always! And when it comes
to fashion, even more so. The City of Lights and fashion simply belong to each
other; they are inseparable. So elegantly irreverent, unpretentious, full of character;
so stylish and powerful.
Here some gorgeous trends seen on the fall/winter 2019 prêt-à-porter collections…
ASYMMETRIC COATS
Super stylish large
coats with artsy asymmetric cuts, lengths, volumes and detailing; were among
the most coveted pieces shown on the runways. Whether in classic colors or
very bright ones; they looked spectacular! (Valentino, Koché, Hermes)
MINI DRESSES
Short dresses; classy, retro or very sexy; many in black, white, metallic or loud
hues; mostly with long sleeves (to keep the charm and class alive, of course);
injected that extraordinary dose of Parisian je ne sais quoi. (Elie Saab, Mugler, Saint Laurent)
MIXED PATTERNS
Designers got artsy when playing with mix & matching prints and patterns; quite usually through layering, panels and patchwork. (Dior, Unravel, Chloe)
LOGOS
The logo fever goes
on; either head-to-toe, on key pieces or accessories. (Anrealage, Paul & Joe, Balenciaga)
WIDE BELTS
Beautiful wide belts
with vintage airs looked fabulous, while cinching the waist of very feminine
dresses, ultra-stylish suits and coats. (Elie Saab, Dior, Sacai)
COLORUL FUR COATS
Magnificent colorful fur coats;
monochromatic or with stripes, specially in blue; with ultra-rich textures, added an extra dose of excitement. (Koché, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent)
STRAIGHT SILKY DRESSES
Delicate, elegant
silky dresses, with very little shape, clearly stated how
simplicity could be so stylish. (Rochas, Marques' Almeida, Nehera)
COOL KNITS
Stand-out knitted dresses, tops
and sweaters; displaying cool asymmetry, volume and wonderful modernity;
accompanied beautiful skirts and pants. (Aalto, Cedrin Charlier, Sacai)
TWEED
There were lovely, iconic
tweed suits, dresses, layering pieces and coats; many perfectly tailored, while
others showing freer contours. Classic delight! (Thom Browne, Talbot Runhof, Chanel)
OVERSIZE SUITS
Oversize suits with
beautiful unpretentious draping, in elegant colors; specially monochromatic, were very present. (Beautiful People, Each X Other, Dries Van Noten)
PARISIAN DARK PIZZAZ
BLACK… total-black
mini dresses, skirts, shorts, suits; tailored or skinny pants; paired with silky
blouses, edgy tops, biker jackets, blazers, furs and long coats; displayed an irresistible Parisian
pizzazz. Ufffff… (Shiatzy Chen, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent)
