LONDON FASHION WEEK, SPRING/SUMMER 2014...

Organized by the British Fashion Council (BCF); and one of the four ‘most influential catwalks’ in the fashion industry; LONDON FASHION WEEK has again impacted and satisfied the hearts of all the local & international experts, media and fashionistas.

It is impossible for us, fashion lovers, not to go crazy about the BRITISH FASHION principally for its avant-garde, eccentric & edgy charm. Who knows if it is the gloomy, unpredictable or ‘gothic’ London weather that keeps inspiring fashion geniuses; but for sure, when LFW arrives intense excitement flows in the air no matter how the climate or day opens up.

So, what were some of the major TRENDS the well-established & beloved British designers and maisons proposed for the next SPRING/SUMMER 2014?

1.METALLICS: There were abundant shimmering pieces raising everyone’s spirit… Shinning fabrics, crystals and sequins embellished fantastic clothes to be used night or day… Very edgy! (Images: Tom Ford & Simone Rocha)

2.BOMBER JACKETS: One of my favorite MUST-HAVES! In neutral or bright colors, in brocade or simple fabrics… The BOMBER JACKET is such a killer when it comes to reassure our super strong lady personality and taste! (Images: Antonio Berardi & Peter Pilotto)

3.FLORAL PRINTS: There was nothing girlish about the FLORAL DETAILING or PRINTS our superb British designers proposed for their next collections. On the contrary, these BLOSSOMS talked about pure modern, fierce, feminine aura… You just got to love them! (Images: Mulberry)

4.PASTELS: We saw them everywhere in the NY Mercedes Benz Fashion Week; and expect PASTELS to stay strong in the most refreshed and updated ways. I am telling you ladies, go for PASTELS without hesitation. (Image: Burberry Prorsum)

5.SHEER: Once again, this is another trend I assured you is coming trés-solid for the next SPRING/SUMMER 2014… It will be just about placing those SHEER spaces in the right places of our beautiful bodies; and our best, sexy but glam persona will be an instant jaw-dropper. 6.COLOR EXPLOSION: There is something about COLORS that makes us feel happy… And with all the options we will have, as seen on these catwalks; we will be able to manage COLORS in very glamorous and edgy manners… Oh, and apparently CANARY-YELLOW is a can’t-live-without hue now… Love it! 7.STRUCTURE: I adore structured pieces, they usually posses a special, modern and demi-couture magic… Abundant, marvelous and risky in times, STRUCTURED & OVERSIZED silhouettes delighted the very open-minded public that the British fashion industry is so used to. (Images: Peter Pilotto)

8.BERMUDA SHORTS: Saving my personal favorite for last… BERMUDA SHORTS highlighted the fresh but sharp mood of the LONDON atmosphere. From day to nighttime, BERMUDA SHORTS are my #1 springy must-have! (Images: Mulberry & Jonathan Saunders)

SEMANA DE LA MODA DE LONDRES P/V 2014...

Organizada por el British Fashion Council (BCF); y conocido como uno de los cuatro desfiles de temporada más ‘influyentes’ en el mundo de la moda; la SEMANA DE LA MODA DE LONDRES ha vuelto a impactar y llenar los corazones de los expertos, fashionistas y medios locales e internacionales.

Es simplemente ‘imposible’ para nosotros, amantes de la buena moda o de la moda en general; no sentirnos movidos y fascinados por la BRITISH FASHION; principalmente por su encanto vanguardista, excéntrico y edgy… Ufffff…

¿Que cuáles fueron las TENDENCIAS más fuertes propuestas por los maravillosos diseñadores de moda británica para la próxima temporada PRIMAVERA / VERANO 2014? Aquí un abre-boca…

1. METÁLICO: Piezas para lucir de noche o durante el día; saturadas de brillo, brocadas, con cristales o lentejuelas; estas generaron una intensa y fabulosa energía. ¡Simplemente sensacional! (Imágenes: Tom Ford y Christopher Kane) 

2.CHAQUETAS BOMBER: Estas se han convertido en uno de mis preferidos MUST-HAVE. Con su particular volumen, en colores vivos, neutrales o pasteles; en materiales de diversa complejidad; las BOMBERS definitivamente reafirman nuestra fuerte personalidad femenina y excelente gusto. (Imágenes: Holly Fulton y Antonio Berardi)

3. FLORALES: Una vez más, los FLORALES interpretados por los artistas de la moda británica estaban llenos de carácter ultra moderno e incluso feroz; sin perder su aura femenina. ¿Cómo no adorarlos? (Imágenes: Matthew Williamson)

4. TONOS PASTELES: Ya los vimos fabulosamente presentes en la SEMANA DE LA MODA MERCEDES BENZ en Nueva York; y los volvemos a encontrar con gran fuerza en las runways londinenses. Los PASTELES reinarán la próxima temporada P/V 2014 de las formas más refrescantes y actuales. (Imágenes: Christopher Kane)

5. TRANSPARENCIAS: Sí, otra tendencia trés solid para el año que viene… Y todo dependerá de nuestra habilidad en usar TRANSPARENCIAS en las zonas de nuestra figura  más lindas; sin jamás olvidar la discreción. (Imágenes: Antonio Berardi y Erdem)

6.EXPLOSIÓN DE COLOR: Los COLORES pueden levantar nuestro espíritu maravillosamente y hacernos sentir felicísimas… Con todas las alternativas que tendremos, como las han revelado estas pasarelas; podremos disfrutar de los COLORES a la hora de vestir de las formas más chic y updated… Ah, parece que los ROSAS y el AMARILLO CANARIO serán nuestros principales aliados… ¡Me encanta la idea! (Imágenes: Temperly London y Roksanda Ilincic)

7.ESTRUCTURA: Siempre percibo una magia especial, una especie de aire ‘demi-couture’ en las piezas de ropa con ESTRUCTURA; y en LONDRES abundaron este tipo de siluetas, muchas de ellas tamaño XL… Y es que poseen un carácter tan único, ¡las adoro! (Imágenes: J.W. Anderson y Mary Katrantzou)

8.BERMUDAS: Hoy guardo mi personal-best, mi tendencia (aunque para mi es un clásico) favorita para el final… Los shorts BERMUDAS. Su vibra casual, pero al mismo tiempo femenina e incluso edgy es mi #1 MUST HAVE, !Siiiii! (Imágenes: Bora Aksu y Emilia Wickstead)

NY MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK... SPRING 2014

I know... We cannot wait for temperatures to fall (at least just a little) to rock all of our beloved winter pieces… Lots of fantastic wool, knits, leather… Warm leggings, cute dresses, hats, gloves and scarves… Oh, of course, and those TDF pair of high boots in that special place of our closets! Uffff…. Sure the time has arrived, but…

While we daydream about our sensational outfits for the chilly weather, we are so daydreaming about our next SPRING 2014 ensembles too… How could we not, since Mercedes Benz Fashion Week turned our fashion world around with all the superb collections from those New York designers... We can never get enough of them!!!

Let me give you an idea of what our favorite fashion-geniuses proposed and what is coming for us to wear after the cold weather is g-o-n-e…

1. Besides SUPERB, MAGNIFICENT WHITE...

2. CROP, CROP, CROP: Super good news for those of you who have not entered your advanced 30’s (not that there is something wrong with it, oh no! ), and with hot six-packs… Girls, you will have so many options to show off your hard work in the gym (and after your every night crunches, ouch!). 3. MIDI SKIRTS & DRESSES: This very classic length used to be related to ‘restriction’; but today it is just the epitome of SOPHISTICATION; a SOPHISTICATION that could be wear at any age. Designers again made sure EVERY LADY could pull-off a MIDI skirt or dress and yet look absolutely updated, glamorous and even EDGY!  Colors, cuts, detailing made MIDIS look so amazing! 4. POPS OF COLORS: Runways delighted the hungry-for-fashion public with extraordinary bright, neon, vivid, happy COLORS. Designers injected them in their collections through whimsical combinations, with neutrals, in blocks, or head-to-toe…  (Images: Edun & Noon by Noor)

5. FOREVER B&W: Okay, you could be HAPPY eternally! This elegant, timeless, ultra-chic and ‘forgiving’ duo was literally in every runway... OMG!!! Black & White, yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever... Cheers for that!!! (Images: Edun & Prabal Gurung)

6. PASTEL: Yes, PASTELS reigned in so many runways… Not for a second in a ‘too girlish’ way; but in ultra-modern manners ; especially when combined with neutrals (nude, gray, beige, white…) and with strong colors such a black. 7. SHEER: There is nothing sexier than to SHOW A LITTLE but NEVER  MUCH skin… Always leaving space for the imagination… And TRANSPARENCIES are so very perfect for this. Of course, SHEER pieces tend to be shown a little over the top in the runway shows; but if we make sure to place those SHEER spaces in the right and most beautiful places of body without showing ‘too much’; we will look sensational! 7. BLOSSOMS: FLORALS went strong on catwalks… Something that make many of us super happy; not only because they are fresh, glamorous and chic; but because designers made sure to offer BLOSSOMS for every kind of lady; from PRINTS with classic boosts to more EDGY ones; especially through cool combinations. NY MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK... PRIMAVERA/VERANO 2014

No hay nada más emocionante que empezar a sentir las temperaturas caer, y entonces comenzar a sacar (y comprar) todas esas piezas fascinantes, maravillosas: Knitwear, chaquetas, leggings, bufandas, botas… Uffff… Que nos gritan desde nuestros wardrobes que, ¡YA LEGÓ LA HORA… Yeyyyy!

Pero al mismo tiempo que soñamos despiertos con nuestros próximos outfits invernales y festivos, es inevitable no emocionarnos con aquellos que luciremos la futura PRIMAVERA 2014… Y cómo no sentir tal emoción luego de deleitarnos con todas las propuestas de las pasarelas de la NY MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK.

Ahora, déjenme darles una idea de lo que los genios diseñadores neoyorquinos han creado para satisfacer nuestros próximos cravings primaverales...

1. Además de MUCHO SENSACIONAL BLANCO... (Imágenes: Lacoste)

2. CROP, CROP, CROP: Excelentes noticias para aquellas que todavía no entran en sus avanzados 30, y que han sabido además cuidar de su six-pack… Para estas chicas, su trabajo en el gym (más todos esos crunches antes de dormir, auch…) habrán servido de ‘mucho’; pues tendrán infinidades de opciones a la hora de lucir su midriff… Por supuesto, !cuidando no mostrar demasiado, por favor! 3. VESTIDOS Y FALDAS MIDI: Este fantástico ‘largo clásico’ ha estado en las últimas décadas relacionado con el concepto de ‘restricción’.  Sin embargo, hoy día muchos comprendemos que en realidad representa el EPÍTOME DE LA SOPFISTICACIÓN; una SOFISTICACIÓN que nos pertenece a ‘cualquier edad’. Durante esta semana de la moda, los diseñadores se han encargado de brindar espectaculares alternativas para TODAS las mujeres. Hoy día una falda o traje MIDI puede lucir ultra MODERNO, glamoroso e incluso EDGY; según sus colores, cortes, y detalles. (Imágenes: Monique Lhuillier y Oscar de la Renta)

4. POPS DE COLOR: Estas pasarelas igualmente fascinaron al público tan ansioso de moda renovada a través de extraordinarios colores fuertes, vivos, brillantes… ¡Alegría pura! Innumerables colecciones se vieron impregnadas de combinaciones con colores vibrantes, inesperadas, originales; en bloques, PRINTS o looks monocromáticos… ¿Mis favoritos? El ROJO, ROSA, AMARILLO y AZUL… ¡Simplemente fantásticos! (Imágenes: Prabal Gurung)

5. B&N PARA SIEMPRE: Okay, podemos sentirnos felices y super satisfechas eternamente… Pues el BLANCO&NEGRO tan elegante, ultra-chic, ATEMPORAL y CONVENIENTE para cualquier tipo de cuerpo fue el más valioso duo presente en prácticamente TODAS las colecciones. ¡B&N ayer, hoy, mañana y siempre! ¡ Wohooo! 6. PASTELES: Sí, también los PASTELES reinaron en casi TODOS los catwalks… Y ni por un solo segundo crean que fueron propuestos para verse infantiles o demasiado ‘girlish’. Más bien las piezas en colores PASTELES se vieron híper MODERNAS y FRESCAS. Desde total looks, pasando por combinaciones con colores neutrales (nude, gris, beige, blanco…) e incluso fuertes junto con, por ejemplo, negro. ¡Me encantan! (Imágenes: Rachel Zoe y Zac Posen)

7. TRANSPARENCIAS: No hay nada más sexy que dejar entrever algo de piel; por supuesto, jamás demasiado… Siempre debemos dejar espacio para la imaginación; pues es una bella forma de ‘mostrar elegantemente’. Así fue como, en la mayoría de los casos, las TRANSPARENCIAS encantaron a los espectadores de la NY MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK. Eso sí, recuerden que si queremos lucir TRANSPARENCIAS, estas deben localizarse en las partes o zonas de nuestro cuerpo que conocemos como ‘nuestras fortalezas’. (Imágenes: Oscar de la Renta y Edun)

8. FLORALES: También estaban por todas partes… Algo que hace muy felices a muchas de nosotras; no solo por su carácter fresco, glamoroso y chic; sino por cómo estos FLORALES fueron propuestos. Una vez más los diseñadores de la Gran Manzana se aseguraron de crear PRINTS y ESTAMPADOS FLORALES para todos los gustos; desde los más clásicos hasta los más edgy.
