Fall is here and with it lowing temperatures, rain and soon, snow. Truth be told, most of us adore fall and winter, for their holidays and the fashion, of course. Uffff... But some of our typical season-worries start coming up. We don't want to ruin our favorite boots and shoes; and we are not going to give up our great style, no way! On the other hand, for those of us with kids, we want to keep them warm, wet and safe.

But there is always brilliant people around, trying to help us make our everyday easier and more joyful. This time it is Daniela King, an American/Venezuelan, and her group of SealShoeCovers...

 Daniela, tell us about your product...

 

It is an innovative, fun and practical product that protects any kind of shoes in rain, snow and mud.

 

How did you come up with this idea? What inspired you?

 

We started SealShoeCovers in spring 2012, when on my way to the office it suddenly started to rain pretty hard. I couldn't get out of my car because I didn't want to ruin my new shoes. Fortunately, I had some plastic bags with which I covered my shoes. Then I thought, 'how come there are no easy protectors for this kind of situation', and it all started there; I had to create a practical and attractive protector for our shoes.

 

How is SealShoeCovers so special?

 

It is the ideal protection for going out in any of your favorite shoes, including heels! And they fold into their own pouch; very practical and convenient, and you can take them anywhere.
Another special feature is that we create them thinking on a wide public; the unstoppable working women, housewives and for their kids from 7 years old up.

Do you work with collections each season?
 

Yes, we introduce new colors and prints according to what is trendy, pretty and cool each season.
 

You told me this became a dream-project; and now it is a reality. Any words for those entrepreneurs who are full of dreams?

 

Sure; that with love and hard team-work anything is possible. Learn to listen to the experts, never give up; and any obstacle is a chance to learn and improve our ideas.

Llegó octubre y con él las bajas temperaturas, lluvia, nieve, hielo… Ya es el momento de sacar toda esa moda que nos fascina de otoño e invierno. Uffff…Y, aunque nos encantan estos meses, nos preocupa dañar nuestras botas y zapatos favoritos. Ni hablar de las que tenemos niños, no solo en cuanto a moda sino a seguridad.

 

Pero siempre encontramos a gente brillante y ultra creativa lista para darle solución a nuestros inconvenientes. Esta vez se trata de una venezolana/americana, Daniela King, y su grupo de SealShoeCovers.
 

Aquí mi pequeña conversación con esa muy especial y talentosa mujer…

 

Daniela, háblanos de este producto…

 

Es un producto innovador, divertido y práctico que protege a cualquier tipo de calzado en diversas situaciones; lluvia, nieve o barro.

 

¿Cómo comenzó SealShoeCovers? ¿Qué te inspiró a embarcarte en este proyecto que ya es una realidad?

 

SealShoeCovers nace en la primavera del 2012, cuando camino a mi oficina, de la nada, comenzó una lluvia muy fuerte y no podía bajarme del carro porque tenía unos zapatos nuevos que no quería dañar con el agua. Tuve que  recurrir a unas bolsas que plásticas que por suerte tenía en el carro. Me dije, ‘tiene que existir un protector con el que uno pueda caminar pero sin estropear los zapatos’. Y en ese momento nació la idea; un protector atractivo y práctico.

 

Cuéntame sobre eso tan especial que tiene SealShoeCovers…

 

Lo más especial de SealShoeCovers es que protege a todo tipo de calzado, incluyendo nuestros tacones. Además, se envuelve en su propio estuche; ultra práctico y conveniente para llevar a todas partes.

Y el amplio público para quienes hemos creado este producto también es otro lado especial. Nos enfocamos en complacer a mujeres activas, modernas, profesionales; a amas de casa, y a sus niños/as a partir de los 7 años.

Sí, cada temporada introducimos nuevos colores y  estampados que vayan de acuerdo con lo que sucede en el mundo de la moda y encanta.

 

Me comentaste que comenzó como un proyecto, un sueño; ¿podrías dejarle algún mensaje a todos esos emprendedores llenos sueños?

 

Claro; que con amor y trabajo en equipo, todo es posible. Hay que escuchar a los expertos. Nunca rendirse. Los obstáculos son buenos para aprender y mejorar tus ideas.

TRENDS AT PARIS FASHION WEEK PRÊT-À-PORTER SPRING / SUMMER 2016 COLLECTIONS…

Paris,  how much we love our City of Lights, where we find fashion as part of its air! We feel it... Paris means tradition when it comes to couture and high fashion, which obviously is reflected in all the prêt-à-porter collections… So perfect, irreverent and inspiring.

 

Here some trends that stood out on our favorite Parisian runways…

 

NONCHALANT ASSYMETRY

Free, artistic asymmetry was mastered through volume, seaming, layering, structure, mix-media detailing and styles. Ultra cool nonchalance! (Images: Talbots Runhof, Lanvin, Jacquemus, Isabel Marant)

 

HYBRIDS, THE PERFECT MIX OF OPPOSITES

It is so hard to define ourselves through one and only style, right? Not a problem, because most of the collections were about hybrids designs and ensembles; the perfect melange of opposites: Feminine & masculine, elegant & laid-back, sophisticated & edgy, glamorous & tough, excess & minimalism. TRANSPARENCIES

MILITARY COOLNESS

NO CURVES

FRINGES GOING STRONG

70’s RETRO VIBES

SHIRT-DRESSES

VOLUME

THE SUPER COOL LEATER JACKET

The classic black with edgy spins, or re-edited colored versions of the leather jacket that those tough, fearless guys (and women) from the past crowned as the coolest fashion piece on earth; these leather toppers spoke out, as they should, on the runways.
