We all know (and adore) London and its cool designers
for their edgy, avant-garde way of creating, interpreting and reinterpreting fashion.
It is clear that London’s menswear (and so do women’s collections) are been
refreshed more and more as years and seasons pass by. A proof of it were these
last SPRING / SUMMER 2017 shows. More whimsical, varied, playful, inclusive, lighter
and comfortable pieces became key parts in every runway. Without a doubt,
costumers want to be pleased by fashion geniuses; and in my opinion, designers
are doing wonderfully so!
Here some great trends seen in LONDON’S MENSWEAR
SPRING / SUMMER 2017 collections…
STRIPES RULE
STRIPES in all sizes, widths, colors, strategic
positions and combinations were all over the place. As classy detailing or with
a playful presence, STRIPES ruled on these catwalks. (Katie Eary, Alexander McQueen, Casely Hayford)
PRINTED BOTTOMS
Tailored, baggy, skinny or very sporty pants became
one the favorites for the more casual risk-takers for their fabulous prints: Geometric,
organic, abstract, bohemian, retro or very graphic. (Songzio, Coach, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro)
RAIN JACKETS IN CLASSY COLORS
Fabulous rain jackets in traditional colors and tones:
Blue, camel, beige, khaki, burgundy, military green, white… All with magnificent cuts, lengths, fits
and detailing; delivered the always necessary amount of classiness to these
modern times. (Lou Dalton, Oliver Spencer, E. Tautz)
TRACK PANTS
The athleisure fever is still so very on, as it became
pretty obvious with the abundant drawstring -track pants; which did not only reflect
the desire and need for comfort; but also the great sense of style that the
public of today owns! (Joseph, Liam Hodges, Casely Hayford)
