SOME INSPIRATION FROM PARIS COUTURE COLLECTIONS S/S 2018: FLORALS & GEOMETRY...

It is such a delight to start a new year with all the spectacular spring/summer fashion that Couture Week in Paris delivers!

The craftsmanship shown on these runways always feels quite surreal! No exception this time. Pieces of art flowed through the catwalks, taking breaths away....

So many trends to feel inspired with.... Delicate and sumptuous gowns and suiting in sweet pastel colors, or classic black and red; much embroidery and appliqués; great metallics, theatrical feathers and ruffles, fabulous volume or simple (but lovely) flowing silhouettes; standout XL prints; mostly inspired in nature or geometry.... Every piece charged with pizzaz and character. So inviting and wonderful! 

I found specially gorgeous the 3D florals and geometric patterns found in Viktor & Rolf’s collection! To me, a top one!

So, why don’t we let ourselves be taken over their enchantment, and absorb touches of these ideas in our daily outfits?!

Here some suggestions...

For the most feminine and romantic ladies... Enjoy florals all the way, through huge organic details and prints.

For the edgier ones, how about mixing and matching florals and geometric patterns?

And for those who want to play it a bit safer; just add an accessory or a single piece that recalls one or both of these elements (flowers and geometry).

It is never too early to turn our Spring mood on!

WHAT COLOR SHOULD I WEAR?

´What color should I wear? ` That is a question I have heard over and over during my sessions and classes.

Well… You should wear any color you love or want. Will it make all your lovely attributes pop out? Maybe yes or not. But, when wearing that color; do you feel beautiful, full of energy or charm; do you feel joyful, do you feel yourself; or even better, your best self? If for any of these questions the answer is YES… Go ahead, wear that color you adore and rock it all day through!

It is true that there are warm and cool colors and tones. If you want to shine big time, warm colors and/or tones of certain colors would look great on you if your skin has a warm undertone. The same happens with cool colors or tones if your skin is cool toned.

This means that if you love blue, yellow, red… Even earthy colors; look for a tone (warm or cool) in that color that matches your warm or cool skin undertone.

But, most of the time, you shine according to how you feel inside; so, color should not be a priority!

Another cliché is wearing certain colors depending on the season. Why? You wear the color you want, no matter the season! Color protocol is applied when protocol is need for its formality or required respect in specific occasions. 

Remember that how you look; your clothes and their color, your style and behavior are an expression of that gorgeous human being you are! Therefore, enjoy your own runway/journey every single day under your own terms.

Let me propose you today AQUAMARINE! Aquamarine eyes remind me of wisdom, freedom, bravery, justice, and so many others dignifying values. So, if you feel like it; either in great doses or just soft accents (maybe through an accessory); go for it, no fear included!

¿QUE COLOR DEBO LLEVAR?

¿Qué color debo llevar? Es una pregunta que escucho una y otra vez.

Podemos y debemos llevar el color de ropas, accesorios, e incluso maquillaje que más nos guste y emocione. ¿Nos hará lucir al máximo nuestros mejores atributos? Tal vez sí, o no. Pero, ¿ese color nos hace sentir bien, hermosas, alegre,s enérgicas? Si alguna de las respuestas es SÍ; por supuesto que hemos de lucir ese color que nos encanta.

Es cierto que existen colores cálidos y fríos; que los que te lucen mejor son aquellos cálidos si el tono de tu piel es cálido; y fríos en caso de que tu piel sea de tono frío.  Pero esto significa también que si te encanta el azul, rojo, amarillo... Incluso los colores neutrales; puedes encontrarlos en tonos fríos o cálidos para que acompañen tu piel. 

Sin embargo; lo que en realidad hace vernos fabulosas es cómo vamos por dentro; es decir; el color poco luce si no nos sentimos bien internamente (aunque el color puede subirnos las vibras y ánimos).

Un cliché sobre el color que nunca me ha cuadrado es el usar ciertos colores según la estación del año. ¿Pero, por qué? ¡Llevemos el color que nos encanta sin importar la época en la que estamos! Solo si el protocolo ante cierto acto o situación lo plantea; pues por respeto, usamos los colores esperados.

Recordemos que cómo lucimos; nuestras ropas y su color, maquillaje y estilo en general; son expresiones de nuestra esencia. Así que, !disfrutemos del proceso y honremos lo que somos!

Sugerencia: Hoy les propongo el AGUAMARINA! Los ojos aguamarina me hacen pensar en sabiduría, libertad, justicia, valentía, y muchos otros tesoros humanos. Ya sea a través de una pieza, accesorio o acento; ¡luce este color sin miedo alguno!

EMBRACE YOUR ESSENCE & FOLLOW YOUR BLISS…

As we open the door to 2018, let us not forget, not for even one second; to embrace our essence and honor every gift Life has blessed us with.

Here some suggestions to start this beautiful and promising year, as we stay very much true who we are…

• Keep it simple. Do not overdo anything! That includes your makeup, hair, dressing, responses and habits in general.

• Take good care of yourself through balancing exercise, sleep, hydration, healthy eating and by doing things that bring you genuine joy. PRACTICE JOY, a lot of it! Keep and open heart to anything and everything, literally.

• Forget about pretending. You do not need to pretend a thing. You are a spectacular human being! Enjoy who you are!

• Follow your bliss! When it comes to your personality and your style in general, let your intuition guide you through. The truth is, we always know the answers. Look in the mirror, be honest and let all flow with ease.

• Finally, keeping in mind the previous ideas… I propose we experiment with every color that recall nature; adding touches of vibrant hues if your heart call for them. Do not be afraid of mixing various earthy colors in different tonalities: Rose, beige, caramel, very soft yellow, blue, brown...; their mix usually results in exquisite, harmonious looks.

HONRA TU ESENCIA, LA SIMPLICIDAD Y BIENVENIDO 2018...

Le abrimos la puerta a este maravilloso y prometedor 2018 comprometidos a honrar todas las bendiciones que la vida nos regale cada segundo.

Una vez abiertas esas puertas, toda sugerencia podría convertirse en fuente de emoción e inspiración para nuestro día a día. Aquí, les invito a pasearse por las primeras de este año...

• Mucha simplicidad; porque la simplicidad genuina está llena de encanto. Las exageraciones, y todo aquello que parezca forzado (incluyendo tu maquillaje, vestidos y actitudes) carece de credibilidad. No hay nada más fascinante que sinceridad reflejada en nuestro ser, actuar y lucir.

• Cuida de tu persona. Busca balancear el hacer ejercicio, dormir, mantenerte hidratada, bien alimentada; y en especial el hacer cosas que te hagan sentir plena, feliz y en armonía.

• No busques pretender; pues no lo necesitas. Eres un ser humano magnifico y perfectamente imperfecto. ¡Goza y siéntete orgullosa de quien eres y de tu esencia!

• Deja que tu intuición te guíe en todos los aspectos de tu vida: Tu personalidad, estilo, decisiones. Lo cierto es que las respuestas están dentro de nosotros. Sé honesta y deja que todo fluya con plena confianza en ti y en la Vida.

• Finalmente, y siguiendo lo antes dicho; te propongo experimentar con colores que te recuerden a la naturaleza: Rosas, beige, caramelos, grises, amarillos muy claros... Y en distintas tonalidades. Mézclalos y ve qué tal te sientes. Utiliza los accesorios y el layering (piezas sobre piezas) para crear tus looks. Y, por supuesto, si algo te dice que necesitas color; agrega detalles en colores vivos. Busca siempre la armonía en tu look final.

"Tailor your responses and adjust your expectations"... I wonder where I read that wonderful phrase! No doubt it contains a great deal of wisdom.

It is nice to be back to my writings...

My beloved country, Venezuela, had me broken-hearted, it still does. But it is time to retake one´s passions. New year, new beginnings, new adventures, more blessings!

LIFE IS ALWAYS A RUNWAY... Inside-out... So, let´s keep on moving, and welcome Life exactly as it is offering itself to us. It is time to continue the journey...
