SOME NEW YORK FALL/WINTER 2019 READY-TO-WEAR LOVELY TRENDS…

I always find New York fashion fascinating… Really wearable, full of modernity, personality, coolness… Perfect for the non-stop pace the city has. From very fancy, elegant suits and nighttime ensembles; to rock & roll and sporty looks; these runways never let style-lovers down!

Here some gorgeous trends seen in the Fall/Winter 2019 Ready-to-wear collections…

B&W PERFECT DUO

B&W looks for every style and taste… Much layering and asymmetry. From super feminine night dresses to fabulous masculine suits and separates. (Bibhu Mohapatra, Rebecca Minkoff, Marc Jacobs)

HEAD-TO-TOE LEATHER

Mostly in black; there were edgy mini, midi and long leather dresses and skirts; cool pants, tops; and notably, a lot of jumpsuits. Beautiful toughness! (Sally LePoint, Longchamp, 3.1 Phillip Lim)

RETRO DRESSES

Floral, multicolor dresses in soft or loud hues; either very long or midi; specially paired with fantastic furs, XL knits or standout jackets and coats; and boots, of course. (Michael Kors, Coach 1941, Oscar de la Renta)

MASCULINE CHARM

Fitted, flowy or super tailored pant-suits, in black, white, grey or vibrant colors; with very clean cuts or lovely asymmetry. (The Row, Tom Ford, Jonathan Simkhai)

THE DRESS-COAT

A total favorite was the dress-coat. Monochromatic or not; in tamed or flashy colors, patterns and prints; in leather, fur or wool; many cinched at the waits or with XL fits. (Bibhu Mohapatra, Michael Kors, Helmut Lang)

DRESS OVER PANTS

Easy fitted, silky or shirt-dresses over pants; many styled with wonderful layering pieces so typical of the cool weather; resulted in a perfect mix between up-dated femininity and masculinity. (Proenza Schouler, Gabriela Hearst, Oscar de la Renta)

SPORTY CONSISTENCY

Stylish, sporty looks keep having their big moment on the runways.  Track pants, shorter bottoms, race-jumpsuits, fitted tops, bombers and varsity jackets in beautiful materials, textures and color mixes; with cool details and edgy vibes were all over. Uffffff…. (Rosa Cha, NPC, Helmut Lang)

Next Stop, London!

LIFE IS A RUNWAY!
