Edgy charm and cool avant-garde are two constants when
it comes to the English fashion… Don’t we all adore that?
From colorful, artful pieces and looks, to very feminine
and masculine ones; the English runways delighted with their spring / summer
2020 ready-to-wear collections.
Let’s take a look at some lovely trends…
ASYMMETRY
Fabulous and artistic asymmetric silhouettes, cuts,
hems, sleeves, necklines, draping, embellishments and details; on dresses,
separates and coats; in tamed hues or very loud colors. (David Koma, A.W.A.K.E Mode, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi)
Geometric, abstract and artistic prints, patterns, figurative
and non-figurative images; on modern pieces looked spectacular… And so much
fun! (Marques' Almeida, Halpern, Roksanda)
FULL RUFFLES
Ruffles all-over, mostly on long dress; in classic
colors or very intense hues, delighted with their charming full-volume and
irreverence. (Huishang Zhang, Erdem, Roksanda)
TRENCH COATS WITH TWIST
Classic trench coats got easy, playful twists through
edgy details, asymmetry, mixed textures and fabrics, prints; and varied lengths
and fits. (Ports 1961, Simone Rocha, Burberry)
VOLUMINOUS SLEEVES
Beautiful and feminine voluminous sleeves stood out in
beautiful mini, midi or long dresses; tops, jackets and coats. (Halpern, Erdem, Emilia Wickstead)
KAFTAN-LIKE DRESSES
Elegant as well as edgy, kaftan-like dresses; full
volume; in classic black, white or very bright colors and prints were
very present. (Richard Quinn, Roksanda, Halpern)
CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS
Creative, artsy embellishments; emphasizing on lovely ethnicity
through multicolored combinations, earthy tones, prints, feathers, fringes,
strings, little mirrors, embroidery, beading, ruffles, asymmetry and rustic
seams; had their big moment. (JW Anderson, Ashish, Christopher Kane)
Next stop, gorgeous Milano…
