What is it about Paris that makes
our hearts and souls so, so happy, excited and in love; especially when it
comes to fashion? Mmmmm… Hemingway’s ‘moveable
feast’ will never stop being so; a magnificent unstoppable feast... Oh, yes!
Fashion lovers know that this is
a case of ‘saving the best for last’. Not by mere coincidence the City of
Lights is always the Last stop of the ready-to-wear major fashion weeks venture.
Parisian SPRING / SUMMER 2005
runways gave us EVERYTHING... Not only what we needed, but mostly everything we
desired… There were gorgeous floral, artsy, geometric and architectural prints,
motifs and designs; lots of spectacular leather, lace, metallic fabrics and
denim. Many collections radiated fantastic retro vibes from the 50’s, 60’s and
70’s. There was fashion for every taste and style; for the romantic, glamorous,
sporty, edgy ladies; and definitely for those who adore men-inspired pieces. When
it comes to colors; black and white reigned without leaving aside lovely pastels,
nude and earthy tones; as well as vibrant hues such as blue, red and yellow.
Paris, it had to be Paris!
Let us go through some of the
most beautiful TRENDS seen during these days…
STRATEGIC TRANSPARENCIES
TRANSPARENCIES were strategically
placed so every madam or mademoiselle could pull them off in their unique way. Sexy,
minimal, romantic or very sophisticated versions of transparencies delighted
audiences. (Images: Elie Saab, Barbara Bui, Sonia Rykiel & Rick Owens)
THE SUPERB SUIT
The black or white SUIT took the
lead; but this two-piece ensemble also stood out in wonderful prints and daring
combinations. A definitely winner for next season! (Images: Chalayan, Akris, Chanel & Emanuel Ungaro)
TOTAL BLACK
So much BLACK awaits us and we
cannot be happier. Pure modern elegance, sophistication and charming mystery it
is what TOTAL BLACK brings along! (Images: Valentino, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton & Yang Li)
ALL IN WHITE
Exquisite ALL-WHITE ensembles beautifully
tailored and fitted conveyed that simple but ‘oh-so great’ magic we always want
and need in our lives. Perfect! (Images: Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney, Valentin Yudashkin & Hermes)
BLACK & WHITE ASYMMETRY
For those who cannot get enough
of black and white separately; B&W ASYMMETRY became a key must-do for the fans
of this gorgeous pair. Good taste is so on! (Images: Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambatistta Valli, David Koma & Aganovich)
FABULOUS LEATHER
Stunning LEATHER pieces in dark
or light colors fulfilled the expectations of the sexy, daring or very simple
woman of style. Leather is now an all-year-long ally! Fabulous! (Images: Alexander McQueen, Acne Studio, Akris & Balmain)
PLAYFUL VOLUME
Dedicated to those lovers of the
unexpected, now VOLUME is your element! It is about time to show it off in playful
and very personal ways as it was done in Paris; through structured silhouettes,
flowy forms or simply through edgy layering… Magnificent! (Images: Issey Miyake, Jacquemus, Viktor & Rolf, Ellery)
CHIC SHORTS & BERMUDA SHORTS
Short SHORTS for more
skin-exposed but never carefree looks, or BERMUDA SHORTS for classier ones… Two
favorites! Both so chic, we cannot help but fall for them! (Images: JC Castelbajac, Leonard, Chanel & Dior)
CHIC ROBES
Easy ROBES were seen suggesting a
variety of attitudes toward life and fashion… Some sexy, others glamorous and
some very relaxed… Clearly, comfort has become an indispensable but still chic ingredient
for our great fashionable lives! (Images: Valentino, Emanuel Ungaro, Alexis Mabille & Chanel)
STYLISH MESH
Super cool, sporty, sexy and even sophisticated; stylish pieces in MESH-like fabric have become no-brainers for the upcoming seasons. Definitely a perfect mix of easy and refined! (Images: Balenciaga, Véronique Leroy, Tsumori Chisato & Akris)
