I adore Italian fashion. I am crazy about their appreciation for tradition, craftsmanship, good taste, and beauty. There is always so much to see and feel! That is why each time Milan fashion shows arrive, my stomach fills with butterflies. I really, really love everything about them!
These Spring 2023 collections definitely kept the know-how to perfection, obviously; plus it feels like extra-creativity invaded some traditional fashion houses; some for the better, others not so much. Still, they honored, as usual, their metier. Mmmm…
Here some delightful inspirations…
THE ROCK STAR
Sexy, nonchalant silhouettes in leather, shinny fabrics, flashy shades and textures; with cool details such as fringes, studs, chains… Accompanied by hot high heels, boots or strappy sandals. (Versace)
Impecable, sublime tailoring; many with gorgeous monochromatic layering and divine masculine airs. (Boss)
BARE MIDRIFF
The bare midriff was a key, pretty beloved element. It added a special touch to elegant, tailored ensembles; as well as to casual, sporty ones. (Max Mara)
LOUD HUES
Gorgeous loud shades mixed through layering, color-blocking, fabulous prints, patterns, and extra detailing. (Alberta Ferretti)
CLASHING PIECES
Couture-like pieces, though as casual statements, paired with everyday, relaxed garments; such as the always-handy denim jacket. (Diesel)
NEON
Head-to-toe looks in happy, beautiful neon tones. Especially popular: Green neon in silky fabrics. (Fendi)
DISCO-READY
Retro, disco-party looks; with their skin-tight bottoms, stretchy materials, vintage volumes, mix-matching, bright flashy colors, and eclectic airs. (Gucci)
FABULOUS FRINGES
Artsy, rich fringes looked magnificent all-over, or on trims, hems, and strategic body areas; with their asymmetry and beautiful tribal airs. (Bottega Veneta)
STANDOUT PRINTS
Large, artsy, playful, and colorful prints on easy, fresh dresses and coordinated separates. (La DoubleJ)
TIERED-SKIRTS
Feminine long, midi and short tiered-skirts; in monochromatic tones or mix-matching combinations; paired with fancy, casual, or sporty tops. (Stella Jeans)
URBAN GIPSY
Bright colors, easy fits; ethnic-inspired textures, details and accessories; and plenty of free-spirited attitude. (Giorgio Armani)
CUT-OUT GOWNS
Lovely cut-outs, mostly in the midriff area, were among the most popular elements in almost every runway so far. Romantic gowns looked spectacular with them. (Luisa Beccaria)
MULTIPLE BELTS
Sometimes one is not enough; so why not multiple belting on easy ensembles for that extra something? (Brunello Cucinelli)
PJ’s
Pijama-like coordinates, in muted or ultra loud hues and prints; are still going very strong; with its nonchalant easiness. (Dolce & Gabbana)
Next stop, Paris…
Life is a runway!
Much love,
Gaby
