Believe it or not, studies constantly show that when we wear pieces related to men’s fashion; unconsciously, gentlemen feel more comfortable around us! Yes! Oh, that applies when we use men's cologne too, by the way.

Ok… So beside that marvelous fact regarding men feeling good when we are near, many of us had fallen head over heels (personally, for a long time now) for menswear inspired fashion. Oh, I adore it!!!

GO EASY BUT CHIC IN OXFORDS: This is one of my favorite choices. For casual looks in shorts, bermudas, crop pants… Or even better & more chic with a cute skirt or dress, OXFORDS look so gorgeous!!! TDF!!!

 

 

BE A TAILORED SEÑOR-ITA: We always want to look put-together, even if we are feeling like dressing in relaxed, men-inspired clothes. That is why tailored pieces are the perfect choices. You do not have to wear a two -pieces tailored suit; instead, you can opt for the jacket or pants accompanied with feminine accessories... These tailored pieces will look ah-mazing on you! Not feeling too daring? Then go for easy boyfriend jeans or shirt; or men inspired accessories, like a hat or fedora.

 

 

ROCK IT AS A TUXEDO LADY: Here it comes (again) my obsession with my always remembered and beloved YSL… When it comes to a fabulous night-time look; go for it, opt for a TUXEDO inspired suit and it will not get any sexier and glamorous at the same time. Of course, the idea is never to compete with men nor wear the literal etiquette look. Leave the shirt out of your ensemble, or wear a delicate tank top with glamorous necklaces and great heels. Believe me, you will be the hot belle of the ball!

¿QUÉ TAL INSPIRARNOS EN LA MODA MASCULINA...?

No hay nada más misterioso, intrigante, provocador, sexy y cómodo que llevar piezas inspiradas en la moda masculina... Recordemos una de las millones de razones por qué AMAMOS a COCO. Y para aquellas todavía incrédulas de la magia y encanto de esta moda; permítanme comentarles...

Constantemente, estudios demuestran que cuando nosotras las damas llevamos prendas que reflejan moda masculina, inconscientemente los caballeros se sienten más cómodos en nuestra compañía... Sí, ¡wow! Por cierto, ¡aplica igual si se nos ocurre usar colonia de hombre!

Bien; además del hecho de hacer sentir más cómodos a los caballeros, muchas de nosotras nos sentimos completamente fascinadas con la idea de usar moda inspirada en el wardrobe masculino. ¡Personalmente, la adoro!

Sin embargo, llevar este tipo de prendas no significa en lo absoluto renunciar a nuestro lado femenino, ¡eso JAMÁS! Más bien quiere decir lucir looks con 'toques de encanto masculino'. Aquí algunas ideas...

 

CASUAL PERO MUY CHIC EN OXFORDS: Definitivamente, ésta es una de mis opciones preferidas. Ya sea casual en shorts, bermudas, pescadores... O, más chic en falda o vestido; ¡los OXFORDS se ven sencillamente sensacionales !TDF!

 

 

SEÑOR-ITA EN UN SUIT: Siempre queremos vernos impecables; incluso cuando vestimos ropas sencillas o relajadas con vibra masculina. Por eso las piezas tipo tailored que afincan este mood son perfectas. No tienes que llevar ambas piezas del conjunto; más bien opta por la chaqueta o el pantalón; sin dejar de agregar accesorios femeninos a tu look. ¡Te verás fabulosa!

También puedes llevar unos boyfriend jeans o camisa; o simplemente accesorios varoniles como una fedora.

 

CONVIÉRTETE EN 'LA CHICA DEL TUXEDO': Aquí voy otra vez con mi  infinita obsesión por mi adorado YSL... Cuando se trata de lograr un look de noche espectacular; atrévete, opta por un traje de dos piezas inspirado en el TUXEDO... Jamás pasa de moda; pero recuerda que no debe ser una interpretación literal del traje etiqueta de hombre. Te sugiero no incluir la camisa o lleva un delicado top; agrégale accesorios que destaquen y unos maravillosos estiletos. ¡Créeme, serás la más hot belle of the ball!

REAL CLASS COMES FROM THE INSIDE...

For Fashion lovers or not, for those with deep aesthetic sensibility or simply aesthetic intuition... The truth is that REAL CLASS COMES FROM WITHIN or it is not present in a person at all.
 

CLASS... How can one define something so marvelous, profound, rich but at the same time so basic... Common sense, the great virtue of 'good manners', social tact, respect for ourselves and for others; that is what real CLASS is about. It is certainly not revealed by our dresses; but of course, our appearance and hygiene are inseparable from it.

I woke up today with a huge necessity, I needed to talk about this topic. Our life situations and challenges give us the great gift of having to think about our true selves, our essence; of having to decide what we really want to be and become; and immediately the word CLASS comes to my mind and heart... A value, a virtue, a topic  that sounds and is very special and big; because CLASS is a heart and soul necessity!

It is also true that we start learning it at home. Although, not everyone has the blessing of knowing about it from early ages; intuitively those with pure heart will try to search for it for sure.

On the other hand, it is never too late to strengthen it inside of us... Though, it is something very personal and genuine, an intention that needs to blossom naturally.

Well, I will not go further today; but this infinite and wonderful  virtue inevitably will come up over and over in my writings; clearly exposed or in disguise... Because, without CLASS I do not want to live.
We, human beings, are not perfect, but everyday represents a chance to become better persons; and REAL CLASS is definitely attached to that path.

Especially today, I wish to share with you all a couple of thoughts from my always beloved Don Manuel Carreño, a magnificent soul that left in his writings valuable content about the most precious social graces and virtues in life... Don Carreño, you will always be in my mind and heart...

“For a well-mannered man, there is not a single moment  when he should feel release from his DUTY TO BE KIND AND COURTEOUS"... And.. "For frankness to be a virtue, it should always go accompanied by PRUDENCE."

LA CLASE SE LLEVA POR DENTRO...

Amantes de la moda o no, con amplia sensibilidad estética o simple intuición estética… LA CLASE SE LLEVA POR DENTRO O NO…

LA CLASE, como definir algo tan maravilloso, extenso, tan rico pero al mismo tiempo tan básico… Simple sentido común, la gran virtud de la urbanidad, tacto social, el respeto hacia nosotros mismos y hacia los demás… Eso es CLASE… Y sencillamente no la da nuestros vestidos; aunque sin duda, nuestra buena presencia y pulcritud es inseparable de ELLA.

Hoy amanecí con una enorme necesidad de hablar de este tema; si NECESIDAD. Las situaciones y retos que nos regala la vida a diario nos dan la oportunidad de pensarnos; de decidir qué y cómo queremos ser, e inmediatamente me viene a la cabeza y al corazón la palabra CLASE…  Un valor, virtud y tema que suena tan especial y grande solo con pronunciarlo silenciosamente. Y que fantástico fuera si todos dejáramos que nuestros corazones hablaran; pues LA CLASE es una necesidad del corazón, del alma.

También es cierto que LA CLASE se comienza aprender en el hogar. Sin embargo, quienes no tienen la bendición de oír hablar de ella desde muy temprano en casa; intuitivamente la busca si es de corazón puro.

Por otro lado, lo más importante es que nunca es tarde para engrandecerla dentro de nosotros mismos… Pero ciertamente es algo muy personal y en realidad es una intención que nace sola.

En fin; hoy no me extiendo más, pero sin duda este tema tan infinito inevitablemente se volverá a tocar una y otra vez aquí en mis publicaciones; mejor dicho, todas la veces, de manera explícita o tácita… Pues sin CLASE yo no quiero vivir. No somos perfectos, pero VALE LA PENA APUNTAR A LA EXCELENCIA, en todo sentido, y LA CLASE es indispensable para aquel que quiera tomar ese camino de la EXCELENCIA.

 

Finalmente, hoy; especialmente hoy, comparto con ustedes un par de pensamientos sabios de mi adorado Don Manuel Carreño, siempre en mi mente y corazón…

“Para un hombre de bien educado no hay ningún momento en que se crea relevado del DEBER SER AFABLE y CORTES”… Y… “La franqueza para que sea una virtud debe estar siempre acompañada de la PRUDENCIA.”

It is screaming, no, yelling, at us and it is certainly so clear… PLAID is our obsession right now!

I am so loving-like-crazy this trend… Well, in reality we are talking here about a classic; meaning it is im-po-ssi-ble to go wrong with it if we do it right!

ESCOGE TU ESTILO Y PUNK-IT UP EN TRATÁN...

Ok, seamos honestas... Todavía podemos sentir mariposas en el estómago cada vez que pensamos en la PUNK vibe del MET GALA pasado... Además; lo hemos visto de manera espectacular y en abundancia en todas nuestras pasarelas preferidas, alfombras rojas y amado streetstyle... No podemos resistirnos a él... Está clarísimo... ¡¡¡El TARTÁN es nuestra nueva obsesión!!!! Recibámoslo con los brazos muy abiertos... ¡Wohooo!

 

Me fascina esta tendencia... Bueno, en realidad estamos hablando de un clásico; lo que significa que es casi imposible vernos mal en piezas en TARTÁN si sabemos armar nuestro look considerando balance, proporción y nuestra personalidad, por supuesto.

 

No importa cual sea nuestro estilo personal o mood del día, el TARTÁN es un go-for, ni lo dudes... Aquí les propogo algunos looks e ideas... 

LA PERFECTA Y GLAMOROSA MADEMOISELLE

She studied two of her greatest passions, Museology and Art History; today we know her as a wonderful contemporary art consultant. Completely devoted to her job as art advisor and curator, she materializes her clients dreams since she finds, adquires, curates, installs fantastic art, and creates the museography according to the place or situation… That sounds like a pretty sensational métier, right?

The life and job of this great Venezuelan woman, that I have known since a little girl by the way; was surely worth to talk about in my blog. This is what she shared...
 

What is it that you love the most about your job?

My job is simply my passion. I am an emerging art collector. I enjoy and appreciate an art piece just like those who love to enjoy and appreciate a great opera or a performance in a theater. I am in love with artistic oeuvres created with discipline, determination, process, motive, and innovative concept.
 

Tell me about the behavior of the market of the arts today, how do you perceive it?
It is such an active one. With a wide social networking and communications, information travels everywhere so rapidly; a reality that helps extend the reach of the arts. Globalization has positioned the arts as a worldwide theme; this allows people with deep sensibility to find and buy pieces that satisfy their tastes. It is much easier now compared to twenty years ago, when people knew mostly art created locally. Today we are all connected. There is a greater offer because there is a greater demand. On the other hand, this is not a market of massive production; artists and buyers long for their pieces to acquire greater value as time passes.

What are people loving the most  right now in the art world and business?

It always depends on the kind of public. There are people looking to feel a connection with the art pieces; there are others that want to invest their money in art; there are the ones that buy certain pieces of art to rescue the knowledge involved in them, as if wanting to save the history and knowledge of an old book.

What would you advice to those who want to start building an art collection with a limited budget?
It depends of the type of collection; but mainly…
1. Consider the purpose of the collection you want to create; what it is that you really want. Defining a theme or topic is the only way to create a serious collection. For example: Urban Art/ Emerging Art/ Latinamerican Art/ The 50’s Feminism/ Geometric Abstraction/  Minimalism.
2. Go through deep research, ‘reading’, about what you want to collect.
3. Visit expos and galleries to have direct contact with art pieces.
4. Find an expert to help you.

This wonderful professional in the art business closed our interview with a precious idea, one that I personally believe in and share…

“It is important to understand that ART transforms and educates like music, cinema, theater and literature do. One cannot forget that ART means cultural contribution; ART ‘is and makes culture’.”

"El arte 'es y hace cultura'." Hoy con nuestra querida VALENTINA TINTORI...

Estudió dos de sus grandes pasiones, museología e historia del arte; es consultora de arte contemporáneo. La caracteriza su gran entrega como advisor y curador privado para Instituciones privadas de Arte y Colecciones personales.

Sin duda alguna, su vida está llena de emoción (claro, y arduo trabajo, pero trabajo rico), pues sus clientes seleccionan obras por las que caen enamorados, y ella las adquiere, cuida, instala y crea la museografía acorde para la instalación o albergue… Ufff… ¡Suena sensacional!

Quise indagar un poco en la vida de esta maravillosa mujer; y además, le hice algunas preguntas claves que todas las apasionadas del arte queremos saber… Esto fue lo que compartió…

 

¿Qué es lo que más te apasiona de tu trabajo?

Mi trabajo es mi pasión. Soy coleccionista de arte emergente. Me gusta apreciar una obra de arte como a quien le gusta escuchar una buena opera o presenciar una buena obra de teatro. Soy amante de la creación artística llevada con disciplina, constancia, desarrollo, motivo y concepto innovador en cuanto al aporte cultural se refiere.

Háblame del ‘mercado del arte’ hoy, ¿cómo lo ves?

Es un mercado muy activo. Con las redes sociales y las facilidades en la comunicación es un mercado rico en conocimiento. Tenemos más acceso a información, por lo tanto la divulgación del arte es mayor. La globalización ha posicionado el arte a nivel mundial, lo permite que llegue más a quienes son sensibles a él; a conocer y aprender sobre las nuevas tendencias entre otras cosas. Por ello, es más fácil conseguir y comprar el arte que le gusta a cada quien. Hace unos 20 años atrás los núcleos solo conocían lo que localmente se creaba; hoy en día hay un mundo conectado. En consecuencia se compra y se vende mucho más que antes - Demanda y Oferta. Y es un mercado que a diferencia de muchos otros, genera aspiraciones en la persona que compra y en la que vende; ya que ambas esperan que el valor de la obra incremente. Y por supuesto, no es un mercado de producción masiva.

 

¿Qué es lo que percibes que al público le gusta más?

Siempre depende del público. Hay quienes buscan una conexión con las obras que adquieren; hay quienes buscan invertir su dinero en arte para salvarlo o guardarlo como lo hacen con los inmuebles; hay quienes compran arte para salvar conocimientos como quienes comprar libros de historia.
 

 

 ¿Puedes dar algunos consejos claves para aquellos que deseen comenzar una colección de arte propia, aún cuando se tenga un presupuesto limitado?

Siempre depende de qué se quiere de la colección. Pero para todas en general se deben tomar en cuenta cuatro puntos importantes:

1. Considerar cuál es el propósito de la colección de arte a crear; tener claro qué es lo que se quiere. Definir un tema que permita clasificar para luego seleccionar. Es la única forma de hacer una colección seria. Por ejemplo: Arte Urbano/ Arte Emergente Latinoamericano/ Feminismo de los años 50/ Abstracción Geométrica Americana/ Minimalismo.

2. Realizar un estudio, "lectura", de lo que se desea coleccionar.

3.Visitar ferias y galerías para tener contacto directo con las obras.

4.Buscar asesoría de un experto en la materia.

 

Finalmente, Valentina terminó nuestra entrevista con una idea en la que también creo y comparto con esta fabulosa profesional…

 

“Es importante entender que el arte transforma y educa como lo hace la música, el cine, el teatro, la literatura. No podemos olvidar que el arte representa un aporte cultural; el arte "es y hace cultura”.
