Italy is known for its superb tailoring and ready-to-wear
craftsmanship; and Milano, mmmm, Milano… The spot
where Italy established designers get together to give the world the best of
what they do; just like a dream…
Here some beautiful trends from Milan Fashion week,
SPRING / SUMMER 2016 prêt-à-porter collections.
LOOSE PANTS
Comfortable but very stylish, soft loose pants in shiny,
mate or sheer fabrics had their big moment in Milan. (Images: Les Copains, Cristiano Burani, Blumarine, Dolce & Gabanna)
EXQUISITE TAILORING
There was a perfect mix of femininity and masculinity
achieved through exquisite tailoring inspired in Italian tradition; ideal to
state our updated lady-power. Uffffff… (Images: Prada, Fendi, Costume National, Iceberg)
SOPHISTICATED, FEMININE LENGTH
Looking sexy-gorgeous does not mean showing too much
skin or legs… A proof of this were the very long line of around-the-knee length
dresses and skirts seen in Milan. Sophisticated sexiness rules! (Images: Marni, Gucci, Vivetta, Luisa Beccaria)
STANDOUT NECKLINES
Sometimes more is more; and so it was the case of
wonderful busy necklines with flamboyant detailing: Bows, ribbons, rich beading,
ruffles, embroideries, mixed fabrics and materials… Lovely excess it was! (Images: Moschino, Francesco Scognamiglio, Gucci, Dsquared2)
GIPSY VIBES
There were fluid, vaporous dresses recalling gypsy
magic through touches of ethnicity, folk and bohemian charm. They represented
clear favorites in the SPRING / SUMMER 2016 Italian fashion collections. Such beautiful
pieces to keep an eye on! (Images: Alberta Ferretti, Salvatore Ferragamo, Etro, Byblos)
COLORFUL LEATHER
Edgy and fun leather or leather-like pieces, mostly in primary and
secondary colors rocked the catwalks! Mini-skirts and longer ones, tops, jackets,
dresses and detailing in cool leather added some of that spice fashion lovers
were expecting. (Images: Au Jour Le Jour, Cristiano Burani, Gucci, Kristina Ti)
UNDERWEAR INSPIRED SILHOUETTE
Silky and/or lacy; very sexy and feminine dresses
inspired in night-gowns, baby dolls and slips marked a pretty desirable and strong trend in
the year to come and on. (Images: Alberta Ferretti, Francesco Scognamiglio, Uma Wang, Ermanno Scervino)
SEE-THROUGH & GRANNY’S PANTIES
One of the top trends in Milan Fashion Week was glamorous
sheer, long dresses and skirts but with granny panties under to see. No doubt irreverence
is a characteristic that must never be absent in our fashion reality; because at
the end, it is all about pleasing our spirits and honoring our personalities!
So, live it on! (Images: Anteprima, Etro, Luisa Beccaria, Dolce & Gabanna)
Next stop, Paris!
LIFE IS A RUNWAY!
