MILAN FASHION WEEK: READY-TO-WEAR FALL /WINTER 2016 TRENDS…

Milan, as many Italian cities, is and will always be known for its good taste, extraordinary exquisite tailoring, and craftsmanship. Mmmmm… A fabulous Italian citá where fashion is so very present even in the air one breathes. This year the Ready-to-Wear collections for the upcoming Fall / Winter season were simply fantastic…

Here some of the most beautiful trends seen on the catwalks…

BAROQUE EXCESS
The BAROQUE style and its EXCESS reigned on the runways. Extravagant, much elaborated pieces and ensembles in opulent fabrics; in elegant, dark and metallic tones reflected that eternal love for the great XVII & XVIII centuries; of course with perfect touches of modernity. (Roberto Cavalli, Antonio Marras, DSquared2, Gucci)

IMMACULATE TAILORING
IMMACULATE Italian TAILORING was all around. There were beautiful men-inspired looks; perfectly made suits in traditional wools and silks; in muted, dark or vibrant colors, prints and a lot of stripes; as well as splendid daring cuts, draping and detailing. Fantastic! (Emporio Armani, Bottega Veneta, Max Mara, Versace)

ABSOLUTE WHITE
Head-to-toe white were among the popular, stand-out tones of the night. This ABSOLUTE WHITE popularity for the next fall and winter definitely stated the growing desire for a timeless but up to date impeccable elegance. (Port 1961, Genny, Aigner, Ermanno Scervino)

EXTRAORDINARY METALLICS
Wonderful metallic fashionable pieces, striking metallic detailing and accessories caught the attention and won the hearts of the excited public; who expected just so. (Blumarine, Elisabetta Franchi, Cristiano Burani)

MAXIMUM FEMININITY
These magnificent Italian collections were charged with MAXIMUM FEMINITY. Lovely lady-like silhouettes, lingerie-inspired looks, romantic shapes and details, right-on-point sheerness, plunges and lengths showed the sufficient amount of skin, great glamour, elegance and sexiness. (Alberta Ferretti, Blumarine, Elisabetta Franchi, Leitmotif)

RETRO PANACHE
A sophisticated RETRO PANACHE from the 60’s and 70’s was strongly present. There were cool flares, vaporous dresses and skirts, turtlenecks, vintage-like fur coats and vests, shearling, florals, artful geometric prints, ethnic detailing and patterns; mini dresses, wide brimmed hats and a lot of hippie vibes; dedicated to those with an easy and awesome personality! (Byblos, Etro, Fendi, Roberto Cavalli)

MILITARY DETAILING
Gorgeous army-inspired suits, jackets, bombers, blazers, trench coats; big pockets, masculine necklines and lapels, standout buttons and great defined shoulders were just a few of the beautiful MILITARY DETAILING showed throughout these collections. (Marni, Mila Schon, FAY, Versace)

COLORFUL FUR
Loud, artful fur coats had a big moment; and they looked pretty fan-tas-tic! With geometric patterns, color blocking, abstract designs and motif, retro coolness; they all warmed up the ambiance with their fun-party of tones and forms. (Fendi, Byblos, Gucci, Marco de Vicenzo)

NECKS WITH BOWS
Stunning NECKS WITH BOWS attached or stylishly tied, in all sizes, lengths and tones seemed to be some of the favorite musts for the cool weather upcoming fashion. Checked! (Vivetta, Dsquared2, Alberto Zambelli, Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini)

NEXT STOP, THE CITY OF LIGHTS!
