It is so
fantastic to see New York stablished brands delight us with their runways,
showrooms and photo shoots… There is always a delicious wearable temptation involved
in their collections; very hard not to get enamored even with those clothes
that have very little to do with our personal style. Feels like having a buffet
of great fashion inviting us to try new things right away.
Here
some lovely trends seen on these spring / summer 2020 collections…
LINGERIE
INSPIRED DRESSES
Sensual
slips, mostly long and midi; with simple lines and/or romantic details; such as
lace, floral embellishments or prints. (Jonathan Simkhai, Tory Burch, Christian Siriano)
Safari
vibes were very much present in a long list of collections. Beautiful trench coats,
belted dresses and skirts; cargo pants, jumpsuits, cropped bottoms and shorts, tops
and jackets with gorgeous detailing; in warm, earthy colors; and a lot of animal prints. (Elie Tahari, Marissa Webb, Sally LaPointe)
LADY-LIKE MIDIS
Wonderful
feminine dresses; specially midi in length and cinched to the waist; in
different colors and tones: Black, white, neutrals or very bright hues. Some monochromatic,
while others with floral, geometric or abstract prints and patterns. (Brandon Maxwell, Prabal Gurung, Oscar de la Renta)
PERFECT
ALL-WHITE
Impeccable,
gorgeous ensembles in total-white… Dresses, skirts, jumpers, suits, pants and shorts of all
lengths and styles; many put together through brilliant layering. (Helmut Lang, Gabriela Hearst, Zimmermann)
STRAIGHT &
LONG
Simple
but charming and elegant long, straight dresses; in silk, tulle, lace or
cotton; with or without embellishments; mostly with florals details. (Naeem Khan, Self-Portrait, Anna Sui)
TRENCH COAT DRESS
Superb trench coat dresses with stylish, modern detailing and silhouettes; well-cinched to the waist; mostly in gorgeous classic tones; such as beige, greens, neutrals and warm hues. (Michael Kors, Gabriela Hearst, Sally LaPointe)
TIE-DYE
From
easy, relax tie-dye printed pieces and total looks to elegant ones; were seen
pouring a great updated modernity. (Sally LaPointe, Nicole Miller, Carolina Herrera)
SUITS
Fantastic
suits with long or cropped bottoms; long, midi or short shirts; in flowy or
perfectly tailored silhouettes; monochromatic or with loud hues and prints were
everywhere. So great! (Rag & Bone, Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs)
