BIKINIS FOR YOUR BODY TYPE: ADVICES FROM THE EXPERTS...

One of the greatest things about SUMMER TIME is to get to enjoy the ocean, the beach, the sun and all the fashion it implies… Mmmmmm…

Especially when it comes to swimwear, we sure know about those many ladies who simply uh-dore being in her own skin while pulling off a fab BIKINI! Ok, you are one of them… So, that is why this time I decided to go to the experts to enlighten our wonderful selves with great advices on how to do no wrong when it comes to pick a gorgeous two-piece bathing suit.

Not everyone is gifted with an HOURGLASS FIGURE that could rock any swimwear; but we certainly got our gifts of nature to be ‘the belle of under the sun’! Our goal? Try to always look PROPORCIONED and to highlight with panache our beloved qualities when wearing a BIKINI.

Now, let us go through what these beautiful and talented experts have to say…

FOR THE INVERTED-TRIANGLE BODY
The fabulous Isabella Ciliberto from PAMPLEMOUSSE, suggests the ladies with a wide upper body and slim lower one to choose BIKINIS that bring the attention to the waist and hips. For that, they might want to opt for simple tops in solid colors or with very soft, easy prints. Strapless or ‘triangled’ tops with thin straps are very good options to balance everything out. While for the bottoms, pick more ornate, richer pieces with side-bows, ruffles, accessories or busy prints in vibrant colors… These will help to create the illusion of wider or more voluminous hips.

FOR THE PEAR BODY TYPE
The wonderful Ileana Hernández, Creative Director of CREACIONESILI, recommends those ladies with voluminous hips and slim upper body to create an optical illusion of balance by using BIKINIS with simple, monochromatic bottoms, maybe with small-motifs prints or side strategic paneling. For the top, these girls could pick a heart-shaped bra, with ruffles, fringes, and rich prints. Cups are a must if you have tiny bust.

FOR THE BOYISH FIGURE
The beautiful Creative Director of KUKUI VENEZUELA, Paola García; tells those with hips, waist and shoulders about the same width to stick to BIKINIS that appear to create volume and curves; such as the ones with halter tops. “Try to avoid strapless, since they make your shoulders look squared.” Paola also recommends bottoms with vintage-y cuts such as those that hit the waist to create a curvier silhouette.

FOR APPLE BODY TYPE

For this body type, the lovely Creative Dirtector of MANOA BAÑADORES, suggests elongating the figure with 'tankinis'; which are those BIKINIS with tee-like top and panty. Opt for halter tops (tied around the neck), imperial cut and V-necklines. For those ladies who love prints, go for them as long as their motifs are not too big. And do not forget the black is not the only 'convenient' color, there are so many!
