FASHION TRENDS AT NEW YORK: FALL / WINTER 2017 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTIONS...

The ready-to-wear runways of the Fall/Winter 2017 collections have started! We might be so ready to wear warm-weather fabulous fashion; but we know that the panache, elegance and glam of our colder day’s wardrobe are things we cannot resist falling for. So, let’s New York be our first source of inspiration for the future cool days to come. Mmmmm….

Here some beautiful trends seen there…

THE HIGH-WAISTED PANTS

Charged with cool retro vibes, and a dose of wonderful masculinity; the high-waisted pants; belted or not; showed how our legs could be easily elongated. In all colors and for every taste; they became a key piece not to ignore. (Narciso Rodriguez, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Mara Hoffman)

THE URBAN GORGEOUS HUNTER

Full of character, power and spectacular style; urban hunters were all around the runways; with their gorgeous voluminous ensembles, fur-trimmed pieces, huge warm coats, strong details; everything in perfect earthy colors. Fabulous! (Monse, Vivienne Hu, Georgine)

3D EXTRAVAGANCE

Very artsy 3D details or head-to-toe pieces with fantastic 3D textures, mostly on knits; stated the timeless need for some great extravagance when the cooler months arrive. Let us keep that ‘3D charm’ always in mind! (Zadig & Voltaire, Prabal Gurung, Thom Browne)

CAMEL FOREVER

A classy hue that never stops feeling new, elegant and modern is the camel color; and it was very present in most of the collections; on head-to-toe looks of gorgeous suits, voluminous coats, covetable jackets, knits; skirts and pants of all lengths and fit. (Michael Kors, Moncler, Zero + Maria Cornejo)

ENCHANTING FAIRIES

Beautiful and delicate dresses with romantic details and volumes, in subtle light hues inviting the ladies in the public to join in an enchanting fairy story; had their very special moment. (Dennis Basso, Jenny Packham, Marchesa)

BOWS

There were charming bows tied to the neck, or strategically placed to make a statement. They recalled old times when extravagance was a must in royal courts. And, why not revive some of that charm now and forever?! (Carolina Herrera, Altuzarra, Marchesa)

VELVET

Velvet dresses, suits and pieces complementing sexy ensemble; in classic black, bright or paste colors became an important part of many collections. No doubt this fabulous, shining fabric will be one not to be left out of our fall/winter repertoire. (Anna Sui, Badgley Mischka, Gabriela Hearst)

SHAPLESS DRESS

Comfortable, easy fitting dresses or tops and skirts, though not men’s favorite; they looked very fashionable and added the amount of irreverence we are always ready for when it comes to our great style. A risk worth taking from time to time! (Nicholas K, Sies Marjan, Ralph Lauren)

 THE MAD-MAN LADY

A little retro, elegant, sensual curve-hugging dresses with very feminine cuts, details, lovely deep plunging necklines and tamed lengths were among the favorite pieces shown in these runways. This Mad-Men fever stays!

SHORTER HEMS FOR WINTER

Shorter hems were used even in the most elegant suits and ensembles; adding a perfect dose of risk-taking and modernity to serious and sophisticated looks. Why not? (Oscar de la Renta, Zimmermann, Narcizo Rodriguez)

THE SIMPLE GOLD DRESS

Very simple but charming and sexy gold dresses became quite popular pieces in these collections. They are so worth trying over and over again; as they looked fantastic on the catwalks, and certainly would look fantastic on you no matter your personal style. Believe me, you will find the right one for you! (Badgley Mischka, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren)

Next stop, London!

LIFE IS A RUNWAY
