LONDON FASHION WEEK, SPRING/SUMMER 2014...

Organized by the British Fashion Council (BCF); and one of the four ‘most influential catwalks’ in the fashion industry; LONDON FASHION WEEK has again impacted and satisfied the hearts of all the local & international experts, media and fashionistas.

It is impossible for us, fashion lovers, not to go crazy about the BRITISH FASHION principally for its avant-garde, eccentric & edgy charm. Who knows if it is the gloomy, unpredictable or ‘gothic’ London weather that keeps inspiring fashion geniuses; but for sure, when LFW arrives intense excitement flows in the air no matter how the climate or day opens up.

So, what were some of the major TRENDS the well-established & beloved British designers and maisons proposed for the next SPRING/SUMMER 2014?

1.METALLICS: There were abundant shimmering pieces raising everyone’s spirit… Shinning fabrics, crystals and sequins embellished fantastic clothes to be used night or day… Very edgy! (Images: Tom Ford & Simone Rocha)

2.BOMBER JACKETS: One of my favorite MUST-HAVES! In neutral or bright colors, in brocade or simple fabrics… The BOMBER JACKET is such a killer when it comes to reassure our super strong lady personality and taste! (Images: Antonio Berardi & Peter Pilotto)

3.FLORAL PRINTS: There was nothing girlish about the FLORAL DETAILING or PRINTS our superb British designers proposed for their next collections. On the contrary, these BLOSSOMS talked about pure modern, fierce, feminine aura… You just got to love them! (Images: Mulberry)

4.PASTELS: We saw them everywhere in the NY Mercedes Benz Fashion Week; and expect PASTELS to stay strong in the most refreshed and updated ways. I am telling you ladies, go for PASTELS without hesitation. (Image: Burberry Prorsum)

5.SHEER: Once again, this is another trend I assured you is coming trés-solid for the next SPRING/SUMMER 2014… It will be just about placing those SHEER spaces in the right places of our beautiful bodies; and our best, sexy but glam persona will be an instant jaw-dropper. 6.COLOR EXPLOSION: There is something about COLORS that makes us feel happy… And with all the options we will have, as seen on these catwalks; we will be able to manage COLORS in very glamorous and edgy manners… Oh, and apparently CANARY-YELLOW is a can’t-live-without hue now… Love it! 7.STRUCTURE: I adore structured pieces, they usually posses a special, modern and demi-couture magic… Abundant, marvelous and risky in times, STRUCTURED & OVERSIZED silhouettes delighted the very open-minded public that the British fashion industry is so used to. (Images: Peter Pilotto)

8.BERMUDA SHORTS: Saving my personal favorite for last… BERMUDA SHORTS highlighted the fresh but sharp mood of the LONDON atmosphere. From day to nighttime, BERMUDA SHORTS are my #1 springy must-have! (Images: Mulberry & Jonathan Saunders)
